Limerick Southern Relief Road

Did you know? The approach to the Limerick Tunnel involved the construction of a 750m long causeway across Bunlicky Lake, a sensitive waterbody on the edge the Lower River Shannon SAC. The causeway requires six large balancing culverts to maintain existing water levels and an innovative drainage system incorporating baffles and filter media to treat surface water runoff prior to discharge to the lake.
