The project involves the extension of this major dual carriageway from four to six lanes. This section of the N7 is part of the inter-urban network linking Dublin with the Cities of Cork, Limerick and Waterford and carries in excess of 50,000 vehicles per day. This Design and Build project involved the on-line widening of 14km of dual carriageway and the construction of four new grade separated junctions, to two new footbridges and local link roads.

Roughan & O’Donovan undertook the full engineering design, traffic management design and providing resident site staff to supervise the execution of the works. Innovations & Challenges: The project was completed to a strict timetable to ensure opening ahead of the 2006 Ryder Cup golf tournament at the K Club in Kildare. Main access to the club is via the N7.
