Summary
Roughan & O’Donovan provided civil engineering design services to Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) for the development of several signalised junctions along the LUAS Red and Green Lines.
Solution
We were responsible for the design of several signalised junctions along the LUAS Red line from Tallaght to Marleborough Street and the Luas Green Line from St. Stephen’s Green to Sandyford.
Our work included traffic signal design for road users, road markings and traffic sign designs.
Challenge
Delivering junction designs compliant with Irish requirements and compatible with Ireland’s first ever light rail project represented a challenge.
