Michael extensive experience of design and project management on major road, rail and bridge projects in Ireland, from initial scheme development and planning through tender and construction stages. Projects in which he was involved include East- West Link (Sligo to Dundalk), Western Corridor Railway Line, West Link Bridge, Athlone Bridge, Arklow Bypass, Youghal Bypass and Killaloe Bypass. He has also led design teams on numerous Design and Build Projects including the Dundalk Western Bypass and the M50 Upgrade.

Joe has worked on numerous civil engineering and bridge projects and leads Roughan & O'Donovan’s structural assessment and bridge strengthening design work. He has expertise on a variety of structures including reinforced and prestressed concrete, masonry and steel bridges. Joe has been responsible for the assessment of in excess of 1,600 bridges across Ireland and has also managed major bridge refurbishment and replacement projects.
