About the role

You will join a team of resident engineers involved in the management and supervision of the Clontarf to City Centre Project.

The project involves the reconfiguration of the roadway between Clontarf and Talbot Street to provide improved pedestrian, cycle and bus facilities along the route.

Ancillary works include retaining walls, services diversions and upgrades, public lighting, traffic management and greenway construction.


  • A degree in engineering (Level 8 qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
  • At least five years’ satisfactory experience of engineering work, including not less than two years experience of civil engineering work and the delivery of road infrastructural projects
  • A high standard of technical training and experience, including administrative experience of contracts i.e. the roles and duties of the respective parties, contractual obligations and timeframes etc.
  • Experience of monitoring the contractor for compliance with health and safety
  • Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good organisational skills



  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Competency in the use of the Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD
  • Competency in reading and understanding plans and specifications
  • Experience in implementing procedures and systems for accurate record-keeping
  • Experience in administering the public works forms of contract
  • Experience in preparing clear and concise reports
  • Chartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent)
