About the role

You will lead a three-person team supervising the construction of a new 2.7km urban regeneration project on a principal traffic artery in Dublin City Centre. You will report to the Employer’s Representative.

The scheme comprises:

  • 2.7km road reconstruction and urban realm improvement
  • Seven signalised junctions
  • Extensive utility and services improvements / diversions
  • Landscaping works
  • Associated footway and cycleways


  • Degree in engineering or construction management (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • At least ten years’ postgraduate experience in civil engineering works
  • A minimum of five years’ combined experience in the role of senior resident engineer (or equivalent) on civil engineering works, including at least one road project with a construction value in excess of €20 million (exclusive of VAT)
  • Experience in administering the public works forms of contract
  • Experience of civil engineering projects involving complex traffic management works in a live traffic environment
  • Experience of civil engineering projects involving complex utility and services works
  • Experience of civil engineering projects involving extensive public and stakeholder liaison
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Fluent/highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good organisational skills


  • Experience of complex urban road construction
  • MS Project experience
  • Experience working with Dublin City Council
  • Experience of public realm and landscaping works
  • Chartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent)
