Your role

You will be part of a team recognised for delivering high quality, cost-effective and sustainable building projects across a range of sectors, including residential, healthcare, education and commercial.

Your key duties will include:

  • structural design
  • liaison with clients, design teams and contractors
  • site monitoring
  • project management
  • structural surveys and reports
  • site development design

Our buildings team works with architects, developers, local authorities and property owners to develop robust, long-lasting building designs.

We adopt a proactive approach to design and use the latest technologies and techniques, including BIM (Building Information Modelling), to deliver projects on-time and within budget.

Our buildings achieve the top certifications within sustainable design, including LEED and BREEAM. 

Recent award wins include:

Essential

  • Honours degree in structural or civil engineering (Level 8 qualification in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Two to five years' postgraduate experience with a structural design consultancy working on buildings related projects
  • Strong safety ethic
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills
  • Ability to work within a team or on your own under guidance
  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Full and clean driving licence

Desirable

  • Experience of MasterSeries or similar structural design and analysis software
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Knowledge or experience of BIM / REVIT
  • Knowledge and experience of building regulations and technical guidance documents
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (construction) 
  • Knowledge and experience of design in accordance with Eurocodes for concrete, steel, masonry, timber and foundations
  • Site development design experience for buildings projects (drainage, water, SuDS)
  • Knowledge and experience of the RIAI forms of contract and IEI Conditions of Engagement for Engineering Consultants
  • Knowledge and experience of Public Works Contracts and Conditions of Engagement for Consultants
  • Knowledge or experience of NBS or a similar specification tool
  • Experience in the procurement of topographical, utilities and ground investigation surveys
