Getting the green light for a high-profile apartment and housing scheme on the seafront in Howth, Co. Dublin
Roughan & O’Donovan secured planning permission for this ambitious 34,500m2 mixed-use development on the seafront in Howth, Co. Dublin.
We provided civil, structural and traffic engineering consultancy services for this scheme consisting of 50 houses and 115 apartments in 5 individual blocks varying from 3 to 6-storeys high.
The high quality residential development also accommodates a community centre, commercial units and 487 car parking spaces.
Environmental engineering services provided included:
We also developed a new riparian strip to the ‘Bloody Stream’ running through the site.
Developing a brownfield site with varying ground conditions, including contamination, provided the principal challenge.
Congestion on routes to and from Howth, especially at Sutton Cross, added complexity to the project.
