The main construction contract for the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge Road scheme was executed last Friday, 8th December, by Roscommon County Council and Wills Brothers Ltd. The €450m project is funded by the Government of Ireland under the National Development Plan and through the auspices of Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

Commenting at the contract signing last week, ROD Chairman, Harry Meighan, said: “I was delighted to represent Roughan & O’Donovan–AECOM at the signing alongside my friend and colleague of 17 years, Patrick Grennan, who will undertake the administration of the PW-CF4 contract as Employer’s Representative. Patrick will be ably supported by our site team, led by Project Resident Engineer, Luke Duffy. Patrick and Luke are reprising their roles on the N5 Westport to Turlough Road contract, which was completed earlier this year. Congratulations to Martin Curley, David Meade, Mary Freyne, Joe Hannon and all the staff in Roscommon National Roads Regional Office (NRRO) and to our procurement team, led by ROD Technical Director, Edward Warren, on advancing the project to the construction stage.”
