ROD-AECOM alliance has been awarded the contract to provide procurement, contract administration, construction supervision and handover stage services for the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge Road project in Co. Roscommon.
The upgrade includes the construction of 33km of new Type 1 single carriageway; 15.4km of realignment of existing roads; five roundabouts; 16 ‘T’ junctions; three road under bridges; one road overbridge; four river bridges and 14 culverts.
The road design avoids and or minimises effects on the Rathcroghan Archaeological complex, a candidate UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its 240 recorded monuments.
The road development will boost economic, social and tourism development in the region by significantly improving connectivity between the west, midlands and Dublin.
The contract provides a welcome opportunity for ROD-AECOM to continue our association with the project team in Roscommon NRRO following our success in bringing the road development through the preliminary design and statutory planning phases.
