Who we are

Roughan and O’Donovan (ROD) is one of Ireland's leading civil, environmental and structural engineering consultancies.

An independently-owned firm, we employ a multidisciplinary team of more than 190 people in our Dublin and Leeds offices.

Our key markets are buildings, bridges, environmental, research, transportation and water.

Current projects include the:

  • Great Yarmouth third river crossing in Norfolk, UK
  • A6 Randalstown to Castledawson ECI, Northern Ireland
  • Enhancing Motorway Operation Services project
  • Waterford North Quays SDZ
  • National Children’s Hospital Satellite Centre in Tallaght, South Dublin

Approach

Each client project is led by a project director, project engineer and project technician, who work closely together on all aspects of project delivery, technical, programme, quality and cost control.

This approach ensures 360-degree visibility of project status and activity and builds shared ownership of project outcomes.

  • €2.3b+

Construction value of motorway we’ve designed since 2001
  • 200+

Number of bridges we've designed for contractors since 2007
  • 100%

Win rate on road infrastructure applications taken from route selection

BIM (Building Information Modelling)

We combine our standardised BIM processes with our ISO 9001 quality management system.

Our BIM processes are certified by BSI and apply across our full range of engineering services.  This provides reassurance to clients and project partners that we have the systems and capabilities in place to manage information effectively.
