About the role

Your duties will include:

  • providing information to land and property owners affected by the project
  • agreeing access to privately owned lands for contractors carrying out advance works and surveys as part of the project
  • agreeing the nature and extent of accommodation works required for each affected stakeholder for inclusion in the project design
  • assessing the accuracy of land ownership records held by the local authority and confirming these records with individual stakeholders
  • making all reasonable enquiries to establish the identity of landowners

You will be based in Mullingar and attend meetings in Mullingar and on site during the working week.

Essential

  • A background in construction and/or stakeholder management
  • A comprehensive understanding of urban road construction and its impacts
  • A good understanding of farming practices
  • Excellent people skills
  • Strong note-taking skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong technical writing and speaking skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to navigate GIS 
  • A full driver’s license
  • Access to your own vehicle
  • Fluency/a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English

About the N4 Mullingar to Longford Road Project

The project will address the largest unimproved section of the N4 Dublin–Sligo route, enhancing road safety along a 52km section of single carriageway road that passes through or close to several settlements, including Ballinalack, Rathowen, Edgeworthstown, Longford and Newtownforbes. The scheme will also enhance regional connectivity to the North West by reducing congestion and improving journey times. Dedicated active travel facilities will be provided.

The planning application and Compulsory Purchase Order is expected to be lodged with An Coimisiún Pleanála in late 2027.
