About the role

You will join a multidisciplinary team of planners, environmental scientists, ecologists, hydrologists and engineers delivering plans and projects across a range of sectors, including transportation, infrastructure development and tourism. 

You will participate in a structured training and development programme designed to help you build the knowledge, skills and competencies you need to become chartered.

Current/recent projects with planning and environmental inputs:

Responsibilities

  • Planning lead on aspects of development planning, master planning and environmental planning on plans and projects
  • Planning and environmental appraisal of sites/lands
  • Preparation of supporting documentation for feasibility studies and planning applications
  • Preparation of inputs to all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs) 

Essential

  • A recognised, accredited degree/qualification in planning 
  • Membership of the Irish Planning Institute and/or Royal Town Planning Institute or a recognised equivalent
  • Six+ years’ experience working in a planning consultancy or similar
  • In-depth experience of EIA and SEA processes
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Irish planning system, environmental and planning legislation and processes
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality outputs
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency/high degree of proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated, positive, assertive and focused

Desirable

  • MSc qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience using Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
