About the role

You will be part of the site-based team responsible on the Waterford City Public Infrastructure Project, a scheme designed to ensure that the key infrastructure elements necessary to underpin the functional viability of the Waterford North Quays Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) and facilitate the natural expansion of the city to the northside are in place.

Your duties will include:

  • supervising all mechanical and electrical works for the scheme’s integrated multi-modal transport hub, the first transport interchange hub between rail, bus, cars, cyclists and pedestrians in Ireland
  • ensuring all mechanical and electrical works are carried out to the client's standards, national standards, specifications, correct materials, workmanship, and schedules
  • identifying technical problems on site and making recommendations for corrective action
  • continuous QA/QC snagging and issuing weekly snag lists for the duration of the project

Essential

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent)
  • Five+ years’ relevant experience
  • Experience of engaging with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractors
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Strong client focus
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A team approach
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, with the ability to record data efficiently and methodically
  • Fluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable

  • Expert witness experience
  • Experience in the preparation of fee proposals and tenders
