Associate

Paul Kissane is an associate at ROD and leads our geotechnical team.

Since joining the company in 2007, Paul has worked on a broad range of traditional employer design and large design and build projects, conducting geotechnical investigations, ground improvement and stabilisation designs. His project work includes bringing both the A6 Randalstown to Castledawson ECI and A6 Dungiven to Drumahoe dualling projects in Northern Ireland from tender design through to the detailed design and construction stages. Prior to this, he was a member the project team on the Northern Spire Bridge project in Sunderland, which won an Engineers Excellence Award for Geoscience in 2018.

Paul is always keen to maximise the experience gained on technically challenging infrastructure projects and reviews the as-built performance of designs to capture lessons learned. He has published earthworks and bridge foundations case history papers both in Ireland and internationally. He is adept at managing information and risks, and uses his qualifications in GIS systems and Occupational Safety and Health to help implement BIM processes in ROD and harness the value in GI information for projects.

Paul has been a member of Engineers Ireland’s Geotechnical Society of Ireland Committee since 2017.
