Ciarán joined ROD as a research engineer in 2015, taking a lead role on many of our CEDR and EU-funded asset and risk management projects. Over the past decade, he has become an integral member of our intelligent transport systems (ITS) team and recently assumed the role of commission manager on the enhancing Motorway Operations Services (eMOS) programme for Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
In addition to his considerable experience in the design, testing, integration and asset management of ITS equipment, Ciarán boasts specialist expertise in the development and interpretation of primary, secondary and tertiary legislation in the area of traffic and transport infrastructure.
A chartered engineer, Ciarán gained industry recognition for his role on Ireland’s National Cooperative ITS (C-ITS) Pilot and is supporting the Department of Transport in developing a National Connected Autonomous Vehicle Strategy. He is also vice-chair of ITS Ireland.
