About the role

You will contribute to the delivery of projects focused on enhancing and upgrading transport infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on the design and coordination of interfaces with light rail systems. 

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, high-quality design solutions in complex urban environments.

While experience in light rail projects is desirable, it is not essential, and candidates with transport design experience and an interest in integrated transport schemes are encouraged to apply.

About our transportation team

Our highly skilled team has extensive experience in delivering transportation projects across Ireland and the UK. These include upgraded rail lines, light rail schemes, motorways, public transport infrastructure, rural roads and active travel projects.

Our team works across the full lifecycle of transport infrastructure, from initial investigations and modelling through to detailed design, construction management and asset maintenance.

Current and recent projects include:

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
  • At least three years’ design or construction experience in civil engineering projects
  • Knowledge of relevant Irish and UK design standards (TII Publications, DMRB, DMURS, Traffic Signs, Cycle Design and Traffic Management Guidelines)
  • Experience in preparing reports
  • Experience of working with quality management systems
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of BIM environments and associated workflows
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic
  • Fluency/high level of proficiency in spoken and written English

Desirable

  • A master’s degree in civil engineering (Level 9 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
  • Chartered or working towards becoming a chartered member of a recognised professional body in the engineering sector
  • Competency in AutoCAD
  • Competency in 3D modelling software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MX)
  • Knowledge of traffic modelling software packages, such as Paramics, LinSig and Junctions
  • Experience in drainage design
  • Experience in pavement design
  • Experience in light rail projects
